Visitors from Paris, France

Our New Avocado Tree
In early March several friends helped me plant an avocado tree in our front yard. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. It will be several years before it will bear fruit, but at least we’ve started.
King’s Kids team from Switzerland
In late February we connected with a Swiss King’s Team that I had been with on Wallis Island last October in the South Pacific. Two of the team came to stay with us for 10 days. It was fun to have French spoken in our house again.
Teaching in the Word by Heart course
On February 19 I spent the morning teaching a staff seminar for the Word by Heart course at the University of the Nations campus in Kona. We spent time talking about how to initiate new courses and ministries in various places around the world.
Valentine’s Day date
Judi and I joined many other couples for a Valentine’s Day date at the University of the Nations campus. Each couple had a private table to spend the evening together with an amazing meal and live music.
Staff preparing for our next course
We have begun to meet each Wednesday afternoon as staff to prepare for the All Nations All Generations course that starts in April in Kona.
January 18-19 Teaching a discipleship course
On January 18 Judi and I flew to Honolulu to teach in a discipleship course at a local Korean church. we found the students very receptive and encouraged by our time together.
My Birthday Week
For some reason Judi wanted to take several opportunities to celebrate my birthday this year. So we went out in Kona, Waimea at the north end of the island and Ken’s Pancake House in Hilo. We also stopped for malasadas (a Polynesian doughnut-like pastry) at Tex’s on the Hamakua Coast. What a week!
All Nations All Generations reunion
On January 16th, several former students and staff got together at our house for a small reunion breakfast. It was great to connect with several former staff and students.
