Our New Avocado Tree

In early March several friends helped me plant an avocado tree in our front yard. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. It will be several years before it will bear fruit, but at least we’ve started.

King’s Kids team from Switzerland

In late February we connected with a Swiss King’s Team that I had been with on Wallis Island last October in the South Pacific. Two of the team came to stay with us for 10 days. It was fun to have French spoken in our house again.

On February 19 I spent the morning teaching a staff seminar for the Word by Heart course at the University of the Nations campus in Kona. We spent time talking about how to initiate new courses and ministries in various places around the world.

My Birthday Week

For some reason Judi wanted to take several opportunities to celebrate my birthday this year. So we went out in Kona, Waimea at the north end of the island and Ken’s Pancake House in Hilo. We also stopped for malasadas (a Polynesian doughnut-like pastry) at Tex’s on the Hamakua Coast. What a week!
